BATTUSHIG BATBOLD, FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT OF MONGOLIAN NATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE, SELECTED AS MEMBER OF INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE’S MARKETING COMMISSION

In scope of the “OLYMPIC AGENDA 2020” program, Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) newly formed the IOC Commissions. The International Olympic Committee has 27 commissions, and Battushig Batbold, First Vice-President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee and Chef de Mission of Team Mongolia to the “Tokyo-2020” Games has been selected as a member of the IOC Marketing Commission. IOC Marketing Committee is Chaired by Tsunekazu Takeda, President of the Japanese Olympic Committee and Member of the IOC, and includes prominent sports figures such as Patrick Baumann, Secretary General of International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and member of the IOC. Tungalag Purevsambuu, Acting Secretary General of the Mongolian Volleyball Association is working in the IOC Women in Sport Commission, and Otgontsagaan Jugder, Advisor to MNOC worked as a member of the IOC’s Sport and Environment Commission between 2012-2013. Magvan Shardarjav who is respected as “Grandfather of the Olympics” in Mongolia among his sports peers, is Honorary Member of the IOC and worked as a member of the IOC between 1977-2009. Battushig Batbold was elected as President of Mongolian Badminton Association in 2015, elected Council member of the Badminton World Federation for the 2017-2021 period and First Vice-President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee since 2017. He is also deputy Chair of Marketing Committee of BWF, the governing body of Badminton. Battushig is graduate of Harvard Business School and currently serves as Chairman of Skytel LLC, one of the leading telecommunications and media companies in Mongolia.
